What TileQuarter is — and what it is not

TileQuarter helps homeowners get organized and get matched with bathroom remodelers. We do not remodel bathrooms. We are not a contractor, plumber, designer, or permit office.

Here is what we do:
- Help you describe your project in simple terms
- Share typical cost ranges and planning info, not bids or guarantees
- Match you, at no cost, with participating bathroom remodelers in your area

Here is what we do not do:
- We do not perform demolition, tile work, plumbing, electrical work, waterproofing, or inspections
- We do not pull permits or approve plans
- We do not give legal, structural, electrical, plumbing, waterproofing, or financial advice

How the matching process works

1. Tell us about the bathroom. Share the basics: hall bath or primary bath, rough size, what you want changed, and your timeline. You can also tell us if you need a tub-to-shower conversion, tile replacement, accessibility features, or a full gut remodel.
2. Add your contact details. We only need normal project and contact information so remodelers can reach you. We do not need bank numbers, Social Security numbers, or sensitive records.
3. We match you with participating remodelers. These are remodelers who say they serve your area and project type.
4. You talk to them directly. Ask questions, schedule visits, and compare the scope of work, materials, timing, and price.
5. You decide who to hire. Or hire no one. The choice is yours from start to finish.

What it costs you

The matching service is free to homeowners. Participating remodelers pay TileQuarter a flat fee to receive project opportunities.

That does not mean your remodel is free, and it does not mean every project costs the same. Bathroom remodel pricing is usually driven by:
- Bathroom size
- Scope of work
- Tile, fixtures, and finish choices
- Hidden moisture, mold, rot, or framing damage behind walls or under the floor
- Your local labor and permit costs

Honest typical ranges for many US homes look like this:
- Minor refresh: about $3,000-$10,000
- Mid-range remodel: about $10,000-$25,000
- Full gut remodel: about $25,000-$50,000+
- Tub-to-shower conversion: often about $4,000-$12,000
- Porcelain floor tile installed: often about $8-$25 per square foot

Those are estimates, not quotes or guarantees. The real price depends on the bathroom size, the work involved, your tile and fixture choices, hidden damage, and your area.

How to compare remodelers without getting burned

This is the part that saves people money and stress. Do not compare on price alone.

Use this checklist:
- Hire licensed, insured, and bonded remodelers, and verify the license and insurance yourself
- Ask if they use real waterproofing behind the tile, not just tile and grout
- Make sure the written scope lists demolition, prep, waterproofing, tile areas, fixtures, paint, trim, cleanup, and who handles debris
- Ask what happens if hidden water damage is found after demolition
- Confirm who handles permits and inspections, and follow local building code
- Get the price and full scope in writing before any deposit
- Keep control of the project by holding final payment until the agreed work is complete

Some homeowners worry that using a matching service means pressure or obligation. It should not.

- You choose who to invite, meet, or hire
- You can say no if a remodeler is not a fit
- You hold the final payment based on the written agreement and completed work

This matters even more if English is not your first language. Ask for plain language. Ask remodelers to write down exactly what is included and what is not.
